FAB Table

FAB table was designed as an exhibition piece for the SE22 exhibition. The theme was FABRIK (factory) and refer to the Factory for Art and Design in Copenhagen, where the exhibition took place. The production hall at the Factory for Art and Design is characterized by its dominant roof construction and the hall's mint colors. FAB Table was developed as an exhibition piece for The Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition 2022, held at the Factory for Art and Design in Copenhagen. The project takes its point of departure from the exhibition theme FABRIK and the specific architectural context of the former production hall. Designed with a surface finish and colour that respond directly to the space, the table references the building’s former function as a central laundry for Copenhagen’s hospitals. FAB Table is an extendable table in which the extension plate is structurally integrated into the table frame. The construction and assembly are articulated through a series of perforations that frame the fittings and fasteners.
